A control system for the documentary letter of credit process and and the fight against money smuggling

Chamber of Commerce, Industry and agriculture-Tripoli

Wednesday May 17th, 2017

This workshop was highly appreciated by the big number of attendees whom we had the pleasure to receive at the Tripoli chamber of commerce, industry and agriculture. Perhaps the main reason being the important and sensitive topic of using the documentary letter of credit as a tool for the financing of import/export operations, as this tool is the most common method used in Libya. The objective of the workshop was to draw the attention of importers, Libyan banks and all those involved in the import process to the importance of providing a minimal degree of expertise in the process of conclusion of commercial contracts, and everything related to the work of documentary letters of credit, inspection, quality control and cargo inspection. The workshop was attended by an active audience, including the customs service department in Tripoli, some local and foreign banks and a number of businessmen in Libya.
